The art of Chess
Sport Museum, in collaboration with General Secretariat for Sports Macedonia – Thrace and Hellenic Chess Federation, organizes the chess exhibition. The exhibition is organized in the frame of the 48th Individual Chess Championship of Greece and consists the virtual beginning of the new Museum in the time journey of sport history.
The exhibition concludes collective material, which attempts to bring out different aspects of the game. A special reference is made to the history of chess, the well known personalities of the history that have occupied with chess, as well as the Arts that have been combined with it, like Cinema, Literature and Visual Arts.
At the same time, collective chessboards are shown to the public, chronometers and books, while the exhibition is framed by the paintings centered in chess, of three Greek artists, Fotis Mastichiadis, Anna Pitta and Nikolas Sfikaw. Furthermore, the public has the opportunity to admire unique memorabilia and advertising exhibits, such as medals, pins, ensigns and a small series of children’s paintings.
